THE EVOLUTION OF THE SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT CONCEPT IN THE NAKHCHIVAN AUTONOMOUS REPUBLIC
Abstract
The Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic has declared the evolution of a comprehensive concept to ensure sustainability in the field of socio-economic development as a priority. The basis of this concept is the region's geopolitical position, economic potential, and goals of increasing social well-being in the modern era. State programs, in particular the “State Program on the Socio-Economic Development of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic for 2023–2027”, strengthen the legal and institutional framework for sustainable development, where strategies such as attracting investments, creating a free economic zone, and increasing regional competitiveness occupy an important place. This program is mainly aimed at ensuring economic sustainability through economic diversification, infrastructure improvement, and social development. State policy identifies public-private sector cooperation, continued economic reforms, and efficient use of resources as the main conditions for sustainable growth. The goal is to sustainably shape long-term economic stability and social well-being in the region, which requires a more flexible and inclusive approach to modern global challenges.
