Abstract

Workflow and Decision Automation Platform – End-of-Studies Project (PFE) This project focused on workflow and decision automation for enterprise banking applications, using the Flowable BPM engine and modern BPM standards (BPMN, CMMN, DMN) published by the Object Management Group (OMG). The platform enables banks to model, automate, and monitor business processes and customer services in a standardized, reusable, and scalable way. Key Objectives & Achievements: Conducted a comparative study of open-source BPM solutions respecting ISO BPMN and DMN standards. Integrated Flowable BPM engine into a Java / JEE backend application. Developed a Form Builder integrated with the BPM engine. Built a back-office application for bank agents to manage services and customer requests. Developed an Angular front-office application enabling customers to request services, starting with an on-boarding use case. Modeled and implemented process diagrams, decision tables, business rules, data models, and APIs. Extended the platform with monitoring and reporting modules for workflow performance and efficiency. Applied workflow and decision automation to real-world banking use cases, demonstrating practical relevance. Technical Environment: Java 8, JEE 7, Spring 5.2, Spring Boot 2.4, Angular 9, JSF, PrimeFaces, BPMN, DMN, SQL, XML, REST, Maven, Docker Included Files: Full PFE Book (PDF), Presentation (PPTX)
