From Nucleosynthesis to Planetary Genesis: Fractal Modal Purification and the Hierarchy of Phase Residue
Abstract
We present a unified effective field theory (EFT) framework connecting stellar nucleosynthesis to planetary architecture, derived from the Harmonic Field Equation (HFE). We treat the stellar interior not merely as a thermal bath, but as a macroscopic resonant cavity driven by a dominant coherent mode Ψ ? .In this framework, heavy-element production is interpreted as the generation of “phase residue” (incoherent sectors). We propose that the cavity mode induces field-assisted tunneling dynamics, allowing nucleosynthesis to proceed at macroscopically reduced activation thresholds via work exchange between the coherent drive and the reaction centers. As phase-incoherent residue accumulates, it destabilizes the global mode via cross-coupling terms. To restore stationarity, the system undergoes Modal Purification Events (MPEs): the non-adiabatic ejection of high-entropy plasma vortices carrying specific topological winding numbers. These ejected packets act as gravitational nucleation sites within the circumstellar disk, subsequently condensing into planetary bodies. Finally, we show that these condensed residues settle into Modal Silence Lanes—orbital zones where the time-averaged driving force is minimized. This naturally yields a discretized, quantized planetary architecture (rings, gaps, and mass bands) as a thermodynamic necessity of the stellar coherence cycle, rather than an accidental byproduct of accretion.
