MuLAR: Spatial Modeling with Integrated Cultural Dimensions
Abstract
This dataset supports the spatial modeling of the contemporary spoken Latgalian language corpus MuLaR. It includes the coordinates of geolocations identified in the corpus and disambiguated through close reading. Additional variables provide information on toponym variations, their frequency of use, references to the same geolocations on other platforms (Instagram), as well as their presence in a curated experimental transmedial corpus of Latgalian texts. An interactive digital model created on the basis of the dataset: https://snowwhirls.github.io/Latgale/ The dataset was created within the framework of Research and Development Grant No. RTU-PA-2024/1-0063, as part of Project No. 5.2.1.1.i.0/2/24/I/CFLA/003, funded by the EU Recovery and Resilience Facility, titled “Implementation of Consolidation and Governance Changes at Riga Technical University, University of Liepāja, Rezekne Academy of Technologies, Latvian Maritime Academy, and Liepāja Maritime College on the Path Toward Excellence in Higher Education, Science, and Innovation.”
