Stress-Dominant Hyperglycemia: Peripheral Metabolic Suspension During Survival Override
Abstract
This work presents a conceptual reframing of stress hyperglycemia as a survival-driven metabolic override rather than a simple transient glycemic disturbance. It proposes that under physiological or psychological stress, neuroendocrine dominance reprioritizes glucose distribution, temporarily suspending peripheral glucose residency and retaining glucose within the vascular compartment as an immediately available substrate. By interpreting stress-related glycemic elevation as a systemic resource allocation response rather than isolated metabolic failure, this narrative encourages physiology-first understanding of stress-associated hyperglycemia. This contribution is strictly conceptual and educational in nature and does not include diagnostic criteria, quantitative thresholds, or therapeutic protocols. π· KEYWORDS (add one by one) stress hyperglycemia neuroendocrine response survival physiology metabolic override peripheral metabolic suspension cortisol dominance glucose redistribution systems diabetology π· COPYRIGHT DECLARATION (verbatim) Β© Prof. Dr. Aditya Bikram Mishra. This work is an original conceptual and narrative contribution authored by Prof. Dr. Aditya Bikram Mishra.
