Abstract

Abstract / Description This repository provides a comprehensive research environment for the sociological study of sex-positive and lifestyle events in Germany, covering the years 2023 and 2025. It documents the complete research lifecycle—from the first structuring of web data to longitudinal statistical analysis and hierarchical cluster analysis. Core Components: Quantitative Event Data: Event-level aggregated datasets for 2023 (76 cases) and 2025, including demographics (age structures), pricing (solo/couple ratios), and visitor composition. Qualitative & Auxiliary Data: Coding matrices and summary statistics derived from event descriptions and user comments (e.g., negative segment density, newcomer addressing). Analysis Scripts (R): A full suite of scripts for bootstrapped (BCa) group comparisons, longitudinal age/price analysis, and hierarchical cluster analysis (Ward's D2) with stability assessments (ARI, CMC). Processing Scripts (Python): Extraction tools used to parse raw web data, calculate geographic distances to venues, and identify external registrations. Documentation: Detailed HTML-codebooks for the main datasets and a comprehensive explanation of representativity filters (e.g., REPR_EVENT, ISRELIABLE). Methodology & Standards: Metadata Standards: Quantitative event data for both years (2023 and 2025) is fully documented using DDI 3.2 XML files, providing machine-readable codebooks for all 50+ variables. Statistical Rigor: Preference for BCa confidence intervals and conservative significance testing. Analysis focuses on admitted registrations to provide a descriptive sociological map of the German event scene. FAIR Principles: Openly licensed under CC BY 4.0, with all auxiliary matrices included to ensure maximum transparency and reproducibility of the qualitative-to-quantitative transformation. Version: This version 2.0.0 supersedes versions 1.0.0 (DOI: 10.5281/zenodo.18620890) and 1.0.1 (https://doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.19370487). Version History: 1.0.0: First version. 1.0.1: Metadata corrections. The substantive data have not been modified. 2.0.0: Correction regarding entrance fees to one Event (424) - swapped wrongly attributed solo man and couple entrance prices. Metadata corrections.
