The graviton film as a solution to the strong CP problem
Abstract
We demonstrate that the hypothesis of a graviton film confining quantum chromodynamics (QCD) particles, such as quarks and gluons, provides a solution to the strong CP problem. This proposed hypothesis has the advantage of not requiring the introduction of a new particle. We show that the graviton film screens the CP-violating effects confined within it, even for a QCD Lagrangian that includes the theta term with a non-negligible value of $\theta$. This explains the non-detection of CP violation in neutron electric dipole moment experiments.
