Detectability of Quantum Gravity via Electron Energy Shifts in Atoms
Abstract
It has been suggested in the previous study that a graviton film surrounds the atomic nucleus of every atom. This graviton film influences the energy of electrons in the s orbitals. Our study suggests that investigating the energy shift in the s orbitals may detect the effects of quantum gravity. The real gravitons that make up the graviton film have an effective mass, leading to the generation of a quantum gravitational potential; however, the influence of this effective mass extends only over distances on the order of the Planck length. This quantum gravitational potential effectively affects only electrons in the s orbitals. Consequently, a phenomenon analogous to the Lamb shift occurs. We discuss this quantum gravitational effect on an electron in the atom and deduce the resulting energy shift in the s orbitals.
