An analysis of Geographical distribution of Adansonia Digitata in India through cultural landscapes and community heritage using GIS
Abstract
There is a strong interrelationship between science, technology, and cultural heritage, which has a significant impact on society. Trees are also important to society because of their aesthetic, socio-cultural, and religious values. The presence of heritage trees gives cultural and historical significance to the country. One such heritage tree present in India is Adansonia digitata. This paper uses four variables from secondary sources to predict the geographical distribution of Adansonia digitata in India. Out of the four variables, elevation is the most important environmental parameter in predicting the distribution of Adansonia digitata.
