80 Years Without Processing – A Psychoanalytic Perspective on Lifelong Depression, Avoidance, and Projection
Abstract
This manuscript analyzes why Herta Brigitte Bertel (née Krug) was unable to process her past throughout her 80-year life. Using psychoanalytic concepts such as "projective identification" and "narcissistic armor," it explores how early childhood neglect and poverty in rural Austria led to an emotional rigidity that social advancement could not heal. It documents the mechanism of trauma transmission from mother to son (Peter Siegfried Krug).
