Etale Cohomology of Perfectoid Spaces and the p-adic Local Langlands Correspondence
Abstract
This monograph explores the foundational role of perfectoid geometry in the recent geometrization of the p-adic Local Langlands Correspondence. We systematically develop the theory of etale cohomology for diamonds and v-stacks, establishing the necessary six-functor formalism to analyze the cohomology of the stack of G-bundles on the Fargues-Fontaine curve. Central to this work is the construction of the Fargues-Fontaine curve XFF as a quotient of the adic space associated to Witt vectors of a perfectoid tilt. We detail the classification of vector bundles on XFF and the consequent spectral decomposition of the category of sheaves on BunG. Furthermore, we discuss the spectral action of the stack of Langlands parameters on the etale cohomology, providing a categorical framework that unifies local class field theory with the representation theory of p-adic reductive groups. The results presented herein synthesize the breakthrough contributions of Scholze, Fargues, and Fontaine, offering a rigorous pathway from the tilting equivalence to the categorical Local Langlands Conjecture.
