THE IMPACT OF STRATEGIC MANAGEMENT ON ECONOMIC GROWTH IN EMERGING MARKETS
Abstract
This article systematically examines how strategic management practices influence economic growth in emerging markets. It explores key theoretical frameworks—such as dynamic capabilities and institutional strategy—which support sustainable growth in economies characterized by institutional voids, rapid change, and competitive entry dynamics. Drawing on seminal works in strategic management and emerging markets strategy, the paper synthesizes evidence that firms’ strategic choices impact not only firm-level performance but also macroeconomic productivity and growth. The findings indicate that strategic management frameworks—especially those emphasizing dynamic capabilities, institutional adaptation, and market entry strategies—play a vital role in enhancing productivity, fostering innovation, and enabling firms to contribute meaningfully to economic growth in emerging markets.
