Abstract

We present a dataset from made up of more than 5.7 million public posts from 1025 far-right channels. The dataset is collected and designed to support research on the wide variety of far-right movements, their networked relations, and textual post data. The dataset includes: 1. Public Telegram channels identified as part of the online far-right milieu. Includes: white supremacists, ultranationalists, identitarians, neo-Nazism, esoteric Nazism, Christian Nationalists, accelerationists of many colors, great replacement thinking, militias, other vaguely defined militias and metapolitical movements, and many more. Also includes contemporary movements such as the Active Clubs, Patriot Front, Atomwaffen related groups, Oath Keepers, Nordic Resistance Movement, Patriotic Alternative, Patriot Movement, and many more. 2. Post-level data and various fields including: Channel ID's, channel names, message ID's, message texts, engagement metrics (views, number of replies, etc.), forwards, message links, media type contained, domain, url, and about a dozen more fields. 3. A ready-to-use BERTopic analysis for thematic exploration and exploratory research. BERTopic helps reduce complexity and improve readability. The data was obtained via the Telegram API using iterative snowball sampling forwarded accounts of a seed group, thus capturing the relational and networked dimensions of the online far-right ecosystem.
