Reanalysis and CMIP6-Derived Annual and Seasonal Means and Trends over the North Atlantic (1940–2024): ERA5, NOAA-20CRv3 and Model Intercomparison Data with GrADS Scripts
Abstract
This repository contains supplementary material for: "Reanalysis and CMIP6-Derived Annual and Seasonal Means and Trends over the North Atlantic (1940–2024): ERA5, NOAA-20CRv3 and Model Intercomparison Data with GrADS Scripts" (Versions v1 and v2)https://doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.18641534 https://doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.19815130 This release includes the results from the analysis of three additional CMIP6 Single-Model Initial-condition Large Ensembles (SMILEs)—CM28, MR10, and GI10—which were not included in Versions v1 and v2. These datasets complement the SMILEs already available in Version v2 (CP10 and CM10). The repository contains two files: Supplementary Tables and Figures, including results from all SMILEs used in the study. allvar_ERA5-CMIP6_35Year_StatisticsGlobal.xlsx, the spreadsheet used to generate Table 2 of the article after importing the ASCII files from Version v2, which contain data from CMIP6 multi-member ensembles (from r1–r3 to r1–r10, depending on the model) and the three additional multi-member es¡nsambles (CM28, MR10, and GI10) These materials were used in the preparation of an article on atmospheric circulation responses to multidecadal thermal regime changes in the North Atlantic This version uses CMIP6 ensemble averaging to reduce the influence of internal climate variability and better isolate the externally forced climate signal. It complements the previous releases: Version v1, based on a single realization for each CMIP6 model. Version v2, based on a limited set of SMILEs with 3 to 10 ensemble members. By incorporating additional large ensembles, this release provides a more robust assessment of externally forced changes in North Atlantic atmospheric circulation while further reducing the effects of internal variability.
