Complexity Binding Theory: An Exploratory Essay
Abstract
This book develops Complexity Binding Theory (CBT): a speculative scalar-field framework in which gravitational effects usually attributed to dark matter are proposed to arise from the information content of baryonic matter, via a logarithmic binding potential motivated by Shannon entropy. Author's note (revised 2026): The original title overstated the scope. CBT is an exploratory proposal, not an established unified theory. Its gravitational predictions do not outperform MOND on a preregistered blind test, and its central constants were fitted to known values rather than derived (see DOI 10.5281/zenodo.18651140). I'm keeping this available as a record of the idea's development, with that caveat.
