Abstract

The RV Tangaroa ACTUATE 2025 Ross Sea Voyage was the ship’s 16th voyage to Antarctica and Southern Ocean. The ACTUATE (AntarCTic soUthern oceAn scienTific rEsearch) voyage was supported by funding from the Ministry of Business, Innovation, and Employment (MBIE), the Antarctic Science Platform (Fernandez et al. 2025), NIWA Strategic Science Investment Funds, University of Auckland, University of Otago, University of Canterbury, Victoria University Wellington, and overseas funding agencies (India’s CMLRE - Centre for Marine Living Resources & Ecology; U.K. NERC). This is the narrative built up from the regular updates sent out every few days to a range of interested parties and formed the basis of the public web blog.
