Two Discrete Growth-Rate Enhancements in the Vaidya-FRW Expansion History
Abstract
Adding one parameter to ΛCDM within the Vaidya-FRW junction-condition framework of a companion paper [1], we detect two discrete growth-rate enhancements at z ≈ 0.15 and z ≈ 0.62 in the combined 1701 Pantheon+ supernovae, DESI DR2 BAO, and Planck CMB dataset. With the z ≈ 0.62 feature established by the companion paper and its amplitude fixed, the low-redshift feature alone rejects ΛCDM at Δχ² = 26.8 (5.2σ, 1 degree of freedom) and the resulting 4-parameter model is preferred over 5-parameter w0wa at strong Bayesian odds (80:1 to 140:1 depending on variant) with feature locations fixed from the full optimization. All three probes improve independently (supernovae, BAO, and CMB). Both features are isotropic across six CMB-aligned hemisphere splits (all tensions < 0.6σ), and the two-clump model outperforms w0wa in all six hemispheres at equal parameter count. The signal saturates at exactly two features; N = 3, 4, 5 clumps add nothing. With both features absorbed, the baseline power-law index converges to α = 0.995, confirming the junction-condition prediction α = 1 to sub-percent precision. Under this expansion history the baseline rate is H0 ≈ 65-66 km/s/Mpc, with locally measured values elevated by the z ≈ 0.15 enhancement.
