A Generalized Success Index Theory: Effort, Ability, Withdrawal Timing and Optimal Modesty Control
Abstract
We present a generalized mathematical theory of success applicable to competitive ac- tivities. Success is defined as the excess of expected return over invested effort. We derive a universal success index and rigorously determine the condition under which effort becomes counterproductive. An exact withdrawal condition is obtained, and self-evaluation is intro- duced as a control variable. We prove the existence of an optimal level of modesty that maximizes success and delays withdrawal.
