Genetically Modified Organisms
Abstract
In this prototype cartoon heroes discuss GMOs, expressing common myths and misconceptions. Students are tasked to decide which point is more valid and then use the knowledge gained from the discussion to create a concept map that describes the main concepts related to GMOs and their role in human lives. External links can be incorporated to examine how students evaluate the credibility and validity of online information sources, compare conflicting claims, and justify their decisions when integrating information into their concept maps. Additional Information for Educators Students work in groups and discussions are encouraged. They go to https://dev.conceptcartoons.nl/run/GMO/en and fill in their names.
