Method and System for Generating Nanosecond High Voltage Pulses by Electrically Induced Inertial Dynamical Depolarization of Ferroelectric Materials
Abstract
A ferroelectric element is electrically prepolarized to a metastable state and subsequently driven above a dynamical threshold that triggers a nonlinear inertial transition in polarization. During this transition, stored polarization free energy is rapidly converted into electrical pulse energy. A trigger switching device initiates the process but is not required to withstand the peak generated voltage, enabling compact architectures with low‑rated switches.
