Appendix B: Cosmological Extension – Nucleation of the Weld
Abstract
This appendix proposes a cosmological origin for the 3-brane model consistent with the Big Bang. It posits that the weld was not eternal but nucleated from the symmetric bulk fields ($+F/-F$) via a symmetry-breaking fluctuation—interpreted ontologically as a coherent act of the underlying consciousness $G$. Key Cosmological Features: Inflationary Phase: The rapid initial growth of the weld tension $k(\rho_m)$ acts as an effective inflaton potential, naturally driving $\approx 60$ e-folds of expansion before relaxing into the radiation-dominated era. Dark Matter Candidate: Dark matter is identified as the uncondensed bulk residue from the nucleation event. It permeates the bulk and couples gravitationally to the weld tension but remains decoupled from electromagnetic surface ripples. Cyclic Information Flow: Black holes serve as a recycling mechanism. The non-adiabatic leakage described in the main text allows completed information structures to be transferred back into the bulk fields, rendering the universe an open, self-renewing system rather than a closed thermodynamic box. Consistency: This extension utilizes the same scalar-tensor action derived in Section 2, introducing no new fundamental fields or adjustable parameters beyond the initial nucleation conditions.
