Abstract

EpistemicKernel v1.0 implements a constraint-first architecture for epistemic discipline in generative systems. Instead of optimizing for “truthfulness,” the system enforces a structural rule: No factual assertion without bound evidence. Built atop the Persistence Kernel, the architecture separates generation from assertion using a multi-regime runtime: A Generate Regime proposes candidate responses. A Law Regime gates ASSERT through a deterministic admissibility predicate. Unsupported claims are downgraded (ASK / INFER / SPECULATE) or refused. Evidence references must originate from an explicit EvidenceStore, making fabrication structurally inadmissible. The implementation preserves kernel invariants, introduces no reward or scoring primitives, and enforces deterministic, testable non-fabrication behavior.
