Abstract

I present a stratified 5D model in which ordinary 4D Minkowski spacetime is one of an infinite stack of “planes.” The speed of light c is the causal horizon of each plane. Local superluminal motion in plane n is reinterpreted as a smooth transition into plane n + 1 via an explicit coordinate map. A 5D Einstein–Hilbert action with thin-brane sources reproduces 4D relativity inside each plane while allowing backward-compatible gravitational leakage. The model preserves all tested relativistic effects, gives a geometric origin for time dilation, and makes a sharp, falsifiable prediction for ultra-high-energy cosmic rays.
