Investigaciones arqueológicas en la Serra do Suído (Galicia) y Albella (Sobrarbe): La aplicación del OSL en contextos pastoriles en piedra seca.
Abstract
This presentation explores the chronological potential of Optically Stimulated Luminescence (OSL) dating in dry-stone pastoral contexts. Through two case studies (Albella, Sobrarbe and Serra do Suído, Galicia), the study addresses the temporal depth of mountain livestock landscapes traditionally considered “ethnographic” or recent. The combination of archaeological excavation and OSL dating provides a solid chronological framework, allowing dry-stone architecture to be integrated into long-term landscape transformations. The results demonstrate the methodological relevance of OSL for post-medieval and modern pastoral structures.
