Abstract

This analysis examines Tulane University’s consolidated financial statements for fiscal year ending June 30, 2025, focusing on structural consistency of financial obligations across governance frameworks. While Deloitte & Touche LLP issued an unqualified opinion confirming GAAP compliance, this analysis identifies material structuralrisks not emphasized in standard financial reporting. The primary finding: a $604 million energy service commitment that functions economically as long-term debt butis excluded from debt covenant calculations and liability ratio analysis, creating hidden leverage and constraining operating flexibility through 2051.
