Abstract

This foundational paper proposes an OS-level theory of how modern intellectual elites—optimized for correctness, coherence, and rule fidelity—become vulnerable to strategic manipulation. The work introduces the concept of the “Intellectual Lemmings OS”, a cognitive-moral operating system that prioritizes the verification of labels over the interpretation of intentions. This structural bias creates a critical vulnerability: the system can be hacked through sanctification, the creation of criticism-proof zones via heroization (upward mode) and victimization (downward mode). The paper demonstrates that heroization and victimization are not opposites but dual-directional modes of the same sanctification algorithm, both designed to disable scrutiny by triggering moral protocols—respect for the “hero,” sympathy for the “victim.” These mechanisms are analyzed at the OS level, revealing how they exploit elite discomfort with appearing immoral, unempathetic, or “incorrect.” A full political application is provided, showing how sanctification hacks structure election campaigns, party branding, and policy narratives. The analysis includes a taxonomy of political storytelling templates, a sanctification algorithm for party identity formation, and a matrix for understanding how policy issues are framed through upward or downward sanctification. This work positions sanctification not as a cultural trend but as a protocol exploit within modern cognition, offering a new framework for understanding political communication, moral authority, and the strategic use of identity in contemporary society.
