Scale Refraction: The Geometric Origin of Gravity in Grand Relativity
Abstract
We demonstrate that treating Planck units as dynamical quantities varying with a scalar field ϕ allows gravity to emerge as geometric flow through variable quantum graininess. Matter drifts toward regions where the scalar field is depleted because these correspond to expanded Planck scales—coarser quantum resolution. This “Scale Refraction” mechanism unifies smooth General Relativity geometry with discrete Quantum Mechanics by making the Planck scale position-dependent. We show that singularities may be avoided when the expanding quantum scale meets the Compton wavelength, and provide testable predictions while acknowledging significant theoretical challenges.
