Infinite Self-Referential Temporal Causal Spectral Chain Structure B; The Infinite Self-Referential Nesting of Time- A First-Principle Approach to the Nature of Time in Quantum Gravity
Abstract
Time is one of the most fundamental puzzles in quantum gravity. Any theorythat attempts to emerge time from a non-temporal substrate often implicitly presupposes temporality in its descriptive language, forming a circular dilemma of “metatime”. This paper proposes that time is inherently infinitely self-referentially nested:there is no fundamental time layer; each layer of time is defined by a higher-levelmeta-time, and this nesting sequence is infinite, achieving self-explanation througha self-referential closed loop. We demonstrate the necessity of this principle fromepistemological and ontological perspectives, provide a preliminary mathematicalcharacterization using higher category theory (ω-categories), and elucidate its physical implications: it unifies intrinsic time and the external arrow of time, achievescomplete background independence, and incorporates time, causality, and geometry into a self-consistent generative picture. This principle predicts self-similarsecondary peaks in the gravitational wave spectrum, quantum fluctuations of thearrow of time, and log-periodic oscillations in the cosmic microwave background, providing new targets for experimental tests of quantum gravity. The infinite selfreferential nesting of time is not only a requirement of theoretical completeness butalso reveals the deepest mystery of the universe as an autopoietic fractal structure.
