Abstract

This open letter proposes a new evolutionary framework titled "The Ecology of Peace," synthesizing Western evolutionary theory with the ecological philosophy of Imanishi Kinji. As humanity faces the Sixth Mass Extinction, the authors argue that the prevailing "Logic of Extraction"—prioritizing individual fitness at the cost of collective environmental stability—has become a lethal mutation. Central to this proposal is the Bunker Paradox, which demonstrates that as environmental stability approaches zero, the probability of individual survival also vanishes, rendering traditional competition-based "fitness" non-applicable: lim (E→0) P(s) = 0 E = Environmental Stability P(s) = Probability of Individual Survival The paper outlines a three-step progression of evolution: 1. Darwinian Fitness (Individual competition) 2. Imanishian Coexistence (Collective mutualism via sumiwake) 3. Gentle Transformation (Conscious, voluntary agency to restore the planet) The authors introduce Homo Humilis (the grounded human) and the Medicus Planetae (Planet Healers) protocol, advocating for Basic Care Mode as a biological prerequisite for global stability. This letter is an invitation to the global scientific community to transition from "Gatekeepers of Truth" to "Human Mirrors" in service of all 8 billion humans and the biosphere.
