2-Day international Conference on "Global Sustainability Through Life Sciences: Green Energy, Climate Resilience & SDG Integration"
Abstract
Sustainability stands as one of the most pressing challenges of the 21st century. Rapid industrialization, climate change, biodiversity loss, and the depletion of natural resources call for urgent, science-based, and globally coordinated responses. In this context, the Life Sciences play a vital role in advancing global sustainability by offering innovative solutions for green energy, climate resilience, environmental conservation, food security, and human health. Aligning life science research with sustainability goals is essential to ensuring the well-being of present and future generations. The global commitment to sustainable development is clearly reflected in the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, particularly through the interconnected Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) such as Zero Hunger (SDG 2), Good Health and Well-being (SDG 3), Affordable and Clean Energy (SDG 7), Responsible Consumption and Production (SDG 12), Climate Action (SDG 13), Life Below Water (SDG 14), and Life on Land (SDG 15). Achieving these goals requires interdisciplinary approaches, innovative biological solutions, and the integration of sustainability principles into higher education, research, and institutional practices. In recognition of this global imperative, St. Pious X Degree & PG College for Women (Autonomous), Nacharam, Hyderabad, in collaboration with Dallas Baptist University, Dallas, Texas, USA, and Progressive Biochar Society (PBS), Hyderabad, has organized a Two-Day International Conference on “Global Sustainability through Life Sciences: Green Energy, Climate Resilience & SDG Integration” in hybrid mode on 17th and 18th February 2026. The conference serves as an international platform for academicians, researchers, scientists, educators, and students to exchange ideas, share research insights, and explore collaborative strategies to address global sustainability challenges. The deliberations focus on key themes including climate change and biodiversity, green energy and bio-innovations, ecosystem restoration, climate-smart agriculture, and nature-based solutions. Emphasis is also placed on integrating SDG-oriented competencies into undergraduate and postgraduate curricula, fostering interdisciplinary research, and promoting institutional leadership in building green campuses and nurturing a culture of sustainability. This souvenir is a compilation of scholarly research papers and conceptual contributions presented during the conference. We believe it will serve as a valuable academic resource and inspire further research and institutional initiatives aligned with sustainability and the SDGs. We express our sincere gratitude to all collaborating institutions, resource persons, contributors, organizing committee members, and participants for their invaluable support. We are confident that the outcomes of this conference will contribute meaningfully toward building a climate-resilient, environmentally responsible, and sustainable global society.
