Ball Lightning as a Messenger from a New World of Circulating Light
Abstract
The book describes a finally unravelled nature of ball lightning. The description is based on over seven dozen articles published since 2003 in leading international physics and optics journals. But it's not just the number of publications that matters. More important is the question of whether the theory correctly reflects the real nature of ball lightning. Ball lightning itself helps to answer this question with its mysterious, intriguing behavior, which is contrary to all generally accepted norm that nobody can explain. We consider a unique object that can detect a flying airliner, catch up and accompany it, although the object should be blown away by airflow, the speed of which is several times higher than in the strongest hurricane. It can enter rooms through window panes. It can move upwind. It can find holes and cracks and penetrate them while changing its shape if necessary. If a science fiction writer described such an object, then the reader's reaction would be you can fantasize, but you need to know when to stop. We show that the ball lightning is not a single object with anomalous properties. It turns out that there is a perfectly new word that we call a world of circulating light. Unlike the ball lightning, properties of other luminous anomalous objects from the world of circulating light were studied long ago but cannot be explained. On assumption that the circulating light is a reason for their anomalies we not only explained the reasons of these anomalies but also derived a number of new universal phenomena and laws from studying properties of these objects. No modern knowledge about quantum mechanics, the theory of relativity, nuclear physics, electrodynamics, etc. is required. Moreover, no knowledge about electricity is required either. Knowledge at the level of the 18-19th century is sufficient for understanding. Elementary knowledge of properties of light and gases is sufficient.
