Abstract

This publication presents a synthesis of independent controlled laboratory and environmental chamber studies evaluating the performance of a patented dorsal-contact adhesive bed bug monitoring trap without integrated chemical attractant. Comparisons were conducted against pitfall interceptors, flat adhesive monitoring devices, and adhesive monitors incorporating pheromone components. Two species were evaluated under controlled conditions: Cimex lectularius and Cimex hemipterus. Across studies, the dorsal-contact trap demonstrated higher capture and detection rates under standardized laboratory conditions. Complete study reports, including detailed protocols and raw data, are provided as supplementary materials. Field validation under natural infestation conditions remains necessary to confirm operational performance.
