Transect data for terrestrial establishment of strangler figs in burned peat swamp forest, Sumatra
Abstract
These data support a manuscript accepted for publication in Ecology and Evolution (in press). Dataset descriptionThis dataset contains transect-based observations of all tree individuals ≥ 50 cm tall recorded in burned tropical peat swamp forests on the Kampar Peninsula, Sumatra, Indonesia. Sampling designData were collected along 34 transects (100 × 10 m) across two post-fire restoration sites (Makmur and Sangar) in 2025. VariablesThe dataset includes species identity, site, size measurements, and establishment classification for strangler fig individuals, together with records of hosts for epiphytic establishment. PurposeThese data support the analyses and results presented in the article:Terrestrial establishment of strangler figs in burned tropical peat swamp forests, Sumatra, Indonesia.
