Plasmon-Enhanced Optomagnetic Transduction for Wireless, Athermal Deep Brain Stimulation: A Multiscale Stochastic-Dynamic Framework
Abstract
This work presents a wireless, athermal deep brain stimulation framework based on plasmon-enhanced optomagnetic transduction in Au@Fe₃O₄ nanoparticles excited by circularly polarized NIR-II femtosecond pulses. A multiscale computational model integrates plasmonic inverse Faraday magnetization dynamics, stochastic Markov ion-channel gating, and Hodgkin–Huxley neuronal electrophysiology. Burst-mode excitation induces a cumulative stochastic bias in NaV1.6 channels, triggering reliable action potentials while maintaining a specific absorption rate of 0.8 W/kg and negligible thermal rise (
