The Phase Coherence of Matter: An Ultimate Prediction of the Bootstrap Universe
Abstract
The Bootstrap Universe framework rests on a single foundational claim: matter is phase-coherent oscillation on a discrete spacetime lattice. Without this claim, the framework's derivations of fundamental constants are mathematical coincidences. With it, they are consequences. This paper states the claim explicitly, identifies existing experimental data that is consistent with it, and proposes two falsifiable tests. The first predicts a non-zero residual in nuclear cross-relaxation measurements at temperatures where electromagnetic coupling cancels — detectable in published data from heteronuclear Overhauser effect spectroscopy (HOESY) of ionic liquids. The second predicts anomalous electron diffraction visibility near 500 keV where the electron's three-scale structure produces a structured transition that standard quantum electrodynamics does not predict. If the residual is absent and the visibility anomaly does not appear, the framework's foundational claim is wrong.
