Good and Questionable Research Practices with AI: A Spectrum of Research Integrity
Abstract
The rapid adoption of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in research brings new opportunities and challenges. This talk explores a spectrum of good and questionable research practices in the use of AI across the entire research lifecycle: plan and design, collect and create, analyze and collaborate, evaluate and archive, share and disseminate, and access and reuse. Through real-world examples, the talk illustrates how the use of AI in research can both support and undermine research integrity. The focus lies on researchers’ individual responsibilities.
