Abstract

After more research on solar PV-based DC microgrid (DCMG) network topology, protection, and controlstrategies in the remote village of Rwanda, readings and simulations were not enough to complete this work, and the project implementation was carried out to validate the simulated results. The materials and stepsinvolved are shown and discussed in this subsection. In this work, the power source was considered a buckconverter to power the two electrical loads (variable resistances). The role of Switch-Mode Power Supplies(SMPS) is vital in modern power electronics as they enable efficient conversion of electrical energy acrossvarious voltage levels. However, maintaining precise control of voltage and current poses a criticalchallenge, particularly in applications requiring strong regulation and dynamic response. This work focuseson controlling converter output parameters using SMPS systems. The proposed approaches enhance theperformance of power converters in terms of voltage regulation, efficiency, and power-sharing byincorporating methods such as droop controllers.
