Abstract

The present study explores the strategic directions of religious policy in contemporary Uzbekistan, emphasizing the interplay between state governance, social stability, and religious pluralism. In the context of post-Soviet transformation, Uzbekistan has pursued a comprehensive approach to religious policy, aiming to balance constitutional secularism with the protection of religious freedoms. This article examines the legal frameworks, institutional mechanisms, and policy instruments that shape religious governance, highlighting the role of education, interfaith dialogue, and regulatory oversight in fostering a harmonious socio-religious environment. Additionally, the study situates Uzbekistan’s religious policy within broader comparative analyses, considering regional and global perspectives on state-religion relations. By synthesizing recent scholarly debates and empirical evidence, the article provides an analytical assessment of the effectiveness and challenges of Uzbekistan’s strategic religious initiatives, offering insights into policy continuity, societal impact, and prospects for sustainable religious governance.
