Unifying Horizon Temperatures from Information Erasure
Abstract
The covariant entropy bound, the first law of horizon mechanics, and Landauer’s principle determine T = ℏκ/(2πckB) for a saturated Killing horizon. The Hawking, Gibbons–Hawking, andUnruh temperatures are instances. The derivation identifies a continuous parameter F ∈ [0,1],the saturation fraction, with no functional role in the QFT framework where the Kay–Wald KMStheorem is structurally binary. The standard temperature is the F = 1 boundary value. At F < 1neither framework determines the thermal behavior; a solution within either constrains the other.
