Abstract

We compute the complete spectrum of the Hodge–Dirac operator D = d + d* on the combinatorial dodecahedron, acting on the full exterior algebra Ω⁰ ⊕ Ω¹ ⊕ Ω² of dimension 20 + 30 + 12 = 62. The spectrum consists of eight distinct nonzero eigenvalue-squared levels plus a two-dimensional kernel, all lying exactly in the ring ℤ[√5]. We prove the existence of exact golden-ratio chains: pairs and triples of eigenvalues whose ratios are integer powers of φ = (1+√5)/2. These chains reside exclusively in the three-dimensional (T) irreducible representations of the icosahedral group Iₕ — the same dimensionality as vector bosons. The four-dimensional (G) eigenspaces match Dirac spinor dimensionality, while the five-dimensional (H) eigenspaces match symmetric tensor (graviton) dimensionality. The heat-kernel spectral dimension peaks at dₛ ≈ 2, confirming that the dodecahedral cell is intrinsically two-dimensional at its natural diffusion scale. Three eigenvalue levels originate purely from the face (2-form) Laplacian and are invisible to the graph Laplacian — these are wall modes in the language of the Selection-Cost Framework (SCF). We discuss implications for Pentagon Foam Theory, where photons propagate as wall-mode excitations on dodecahedral foam cells, and derive testable predictions from the spectral structure.
