The Effectiveness of Immersive Simulations in Studying Nutrient Chemical Transformations in Higher Education Institutions
Abstract
The relevance of this study is determined by the increasing demands for the quality of training specialists in the fields of natural and medical-biological sciences in the context of the digital transformation of higher education and the growing complexity of disciplinary content. The multi-level nature of chemical transformations of nutrients, integrating molecular, metabolic, and physiological mechanisms, creates significant cognitive load and necessitates the use of innovative pedagogical tools. The aim of the article is to substantiate the feasibility of using immersive simulations in teaching chemical transformations of nutrients and to determine their educational potential. The study employs analytical generalization of scientific literature, as well as structural-logical and comparative analysis. The results confirm the high cognitive complexity of the subject matter and demonstrate the effectiveness of immersive simulations in modeling biochemical processes and developing systemic, analytical, and predictive competencies. Methodological, technical, and organizational challenges of implementation are also identified. The conclusions emphasize the expediency of systematic integration of immersive technologies into higher education and outline prospects for further empirical evaluation of their educational effectiveness.
