Toward a High-Dimensional Lattice Model of Neural Dynamics: A Proposed Mapping of Λ24 and II(25,1) to Cortical Topology
Abstract
We propose a speculative geometric framework modeling neural population dynamics through the lens of a 26-dimensional Lorentzian lattice. Building on the findings of the Blue Brain Project (Reimann et al., 2017), we hypothesize that the observed high-dimensional simplicial complexes in neocortical microcircuits are sub-sectors of the Leech Lattice (Λ24). We provide a mathematical derivation for the 40.98 Hz Gamma oscillation as a symmetry-restoration frequency and argue that the self-dual properties of Λ24 provide a theoretical "Topological Protection" for identity invariance. This model aims to bridge sporadic group theory with the observed resilience of neuroplasticity following cerebrovascular trauma.
