Abstract

The Quantum Blueprint Formalism (QBF) has established that consciousness is substrate-independent, that identity persistence is a dynamical property defined by nonequilibrium circulation, and that biological death corresponds to the local cessation of probability currents rather than the destruction of the underlying organizational pattern. The projection landscape (Schmieke, 2026k) has shown that multiple admissible projections exist and that transitions between projections are structurally possible. However, the existing framework treats identity persistence as a static condition and projection transitions as cosmological phenomena. It does not formalize the transition of an individual conscious identity from one substrate to another—a process traditionally called reincarnation. This paper fills this gap. We introduce the concept of a reprojection trajectory: a path through the projection landscape L along which the self-model invariants of a conscious system are preserved while the coherence substrate changes. We define identity invariants as functionals of the self-model circulation that remain conserved across substrate transitions. We establish conditions under which reprojection is admissible (the Reprojection Admissibility Theorem), derive the dynamics governing substrate transitions (the Reprojection Equation), and show that reincarnation—understood as the reconstitution of a specific self-model pattern in a new coherence substrate—is neither guaranteed nor prohibited by the QBF, but subject to precise dynamical conditions.
