Abstract

The rapid proliferation of digital technologies has fundamentally altered the architecture and functioning of contemporary commerce. Within this evolving landscape, digital marketing has emerged as a strategic and structural force that transcends its traditional promotional role, reshaping organizational practices, consumer behavior, and market dynamics. In the postmodern economic context, where consumption is increasingly mediated by symbolic meanings, experiential value, and networked interactions, conventional models of commerce appear progressively inadequate. This study offers a comprehensive conceptual synthesis of how digital marketing contributes to the structural transformation of modern commercial systems. Drawing upon an extensive qualitative review of interdisciplinary academic literature, the research explores critical dimensions including platform-based engagement, data-driven personalization, participatory value creation, and strategic adaptability. The analysis reveals that digital marketing functions as an integrative mechanism, linking technological infrastructures with socio-cultural processes, thereby redefining the logic of market exchange. Furthermore, the study highlights emerging ethical and sustainability challenges associated with intensified data reliance and algorithmic governance. By positioning digital marketing as a core institutional driver of postmodern commerce, the paper advances theoretical understanding and provides actionable insights for scholars, practitioners, and policymakers seeking to navigate the complexities of digitally mediated markets.
