Image Formation by a Moving Mirror in the Relativistic Limit
Abstract
In classical optics, image formation by a plane mirror assumes stationary mirrors and objects. This work analyzes image formation when both the mirror and the object move at relativistic speeds in the same direction. Using special relativity, it is shown that as velocity approaches the speed of light, reflected radiation undergoes extreme redshift, making image formation physically unobservable.
