Enrico Coveri. Storia di una biografia
Abstract
This essay traces the genesis of the first biography of Enrico Coveri, 'The King of Colors' (2024), born from the collaboration between the author and Rocco Franco Burtone, the designer's long-time historical assistant. Drawing on personal memories and an analysis of the Maison’s Historical Archive, the text explores Coveri’s revolutionary contribution to fashion: from his 1978 Paris debut to his relationships with iconic figures such as Andy Warhol and Keith Haring. It highlights a style founded on joy, color, and a 'democratic' conception of clothing, which influenced international trends from the 1970s to the Haute Couture showcased at the Opéra Garnier.
