Control-Oriented Nonlinear Time-Domain Modeling Framework for Hybrid Floating Offshore Wind Turbine Platforms with Oscillating Water Columns
Abstract
The dataset provides curated input data, hydrodynamic coefficients, and validation results required to reproduce the numerical benchmarks presented in the paper. To protect ongoing research and enable future developments, the full executable model is not included. Instead, the dataset ensures transparency and reproducibility of the reported results. Contents 1. Platform Geometry and Hydrostatics Principal dimensions of the ITI Energy Barge platform OWC chamber geometry and placement Hydrostatic properties (displacement, waterplane area, restoring coefficients) 2. Hydrodynamic Coefficients (WAMIT-derived) Added mass matrices (frequency-dependent) Radiation damping matrices Wave excitation force coefficients Hydrostatic stiffness matrix These coefficients are provided in MATLAB-compatible format for direct use in time-domain simulations. 3. Mooring System Parameters Line properties (length, stiffness, pretension) Anchor coordinates and fairlead locations Quasi-static catenary formulation parameters 4. Environmental Conditions Regular wave cases used for RAO analysis Irregular wave spectrum parameters Wind field parameters used in OpenFAST benchmark comparisons 5. Verification and Validation Data Free-decay test results (surge, heave, pitch) Natural periods and damping ratios Response Amplitude Operators (RAOs) Time-series comparisons with OpenFAST: Rotor speed Generator power Platform pitch motion 6. Post-Processing Scripts MATLAB scripts for: RAO computation Free-decay analysis (logarithmic decrement) RMSE and NRMSE error metrics Scope and Reproducibility This dataset enables reproduction of the hydrodynamic behavior, natural frequencies, and benchmark comparisons reported in the manuscript. The control-oriented simulation architecture and extended subsystem models remain under active development and are therefore not fully released.
