Temporal Memory Theorem: Structural Necessity of Accumulated Trace Under Folding
Abstract
This paper formulates and proves the Temporal Memory Theorem (TMT), establishing the structural necessity of accumulated trace under projection-induced folding in dynamical systems. When a projection map causes loss of injectivity, instantaneous observable states become formally insufficient to distinguish globally divergent regimes. Under a minimal Separability Condition on the full state space, we prove that there exists an accumulated trace functional — defined as a time integral of a measurable function sensitive to hidden coordinates — which is both necessary and sufficient to restore distinguishability between trajectories. The theorem extends the geometric framework introduced in the Theorem of Complex Binarity by formalizing the temporal dimension required when structural degradation leads to folding. The result applies to infrastructure stability analysis, financial audit systems, and any domain in which observable surface behavior may mask divergence in underlying system regimes.
