Abstract

This paper investigates the geometric regularity properties of solutions to nonlinear hyperbolic d'Alembertian systems. We focus on how the geometric structure of spacetime, initial data, and characteristic hypersurfaces influences the smoothness and long-term behavior of solutions. Nonlinear hyperbolic equations, particularly those involving the d'Alembertian operator, are fundamental in mathematical physics, describing phenomena from wave propagation to general relativity. Understanding their regularity is crucial for both theoretical completeness and practical applications, yet nonlinearities often lead to complex phenomena such as shock formation and singularity development. This study employs advanced techniques from geometric analysis and partial differential equations, including sophisticated energy estimates in weighted Sobolev spaces and the method of vector fields, adapted for the Lorentz geometry inherent in hyperbolic problems. We aim to establish conditions under which solutions retain their initial smoothness, or exhibit specific geometric regularities, even in the presence of strong nonlinear interactions. The results offer insights into the interplay between curvature, causality, and solution regularity, contributing to a deeper understanding of wave dynamics in curved spacetimes and the stability of various physical models.
