Consciousness
Abstract
his paper presents a structural account of consciousness developed from the perspective of an independent researcher. It does not offer clinical, medical, psychological, or professional advice. Instead, it proposes a conceptual framework for understanding consciousness as the ongoing maintenance of a relational manifold — a boundary‑stabilizing process that preserves coherence across time, regulates contrast, and sustains orientation under perturbation. The analysis integrates ideas from relational harm, cognitive environments, temporal manifolds, and boundary theory to show how consciousness can be understood without invoking substances, hidden properties, or metaphysical additions. The paper argues that many traditional puzzles in philosophy of mind arise from treating consciousness as an object rather than a structure, and that reframing it as boundary maintenance dissolves these puzzles while offering empirically tractable implications. This work is exploratory, theoretical, and intended for discussion. It should not be interpreted as professional guidance or as a substitute for expertise in psychology, neuroscience, medicine, or related fields
